The IOMC workshop on “Advancing Chemicals and Waste Management in Chemical Intensive Economic Sectors and Industries” took place from 17-18 January 2023, in Paris, hosted by OECD. In Paris, valuable initial discussions took place on guiding principles for industry strategy development, as well as the elements and activities of a possible “Beyond 2020” Implementation.

As a follow up, on 20-21 June 2023, in Geneva, IOMC is holding "Multi-stakeholder Expert Workshop on Advancing Chemicals and Waste Management in Economic Industry Sectors".

The two-day workshop will discuss draft guiding principles to support economic sector and industry strategies throughout supply and value chains, and explore the elements and activities of a possible Implementation Programme under “Beyond 2020”.

Dear all, At the Rainforest Alliance we are working with farmers to phase-out their use of highly hazardous pesticides. This is not always easy, but much more often possible then many farmers, companies and governmental policymakers believe. We therefore wrote this report with accompanying video on how our farmers succesfully phased-out one of the deadliest pesticides; paraquat. Sadly its use is still widespread, with our story we hope to convince companies and governments that we can and need to phase it out. Please share it and reach out if you would like to know more.
