On 22 January 2026, the Green Growth Knowledge Partnership (GGKP), under the GEF-funded and UNEP-led Global NIP Update Project (GEF ID 10785), held a webinar on Activity Options for Action Plans for Brominated, Chlorinated and Other New POPs and featured the presentation "Action Plan Considerations for Management and Phase Out of Medium- and Short-Chain Chlorinated Paraffins”.
The presentation outlined regulatory, inventory, alternatives assessment, BAT/BEP application, life cycle management, monitoring, and contaminated site management measures to support the control and phase-out of SCCPs and newly listed MCCPs under the Stockholm Convention. It emphasized the need for integrated action across production, use, recycling, and disposal stages, supported by stakeholder awareness, laboratory capacity, and science-based decision-making to reduce exposure and protect human health and the environment.
