This document outlines the process for selecting sites and sectors under the Uganda Trade Support Project implemented by GGGI and TradeMark Africa, with support from DANIDA and the Government of Uganda.
The guidance aims to identify 1–2 commercially viable, green, and climate-resilient Free Zones or Special Economic Zones (SEZs) that align with Uganda’s NDP IV, green industrialization goals, and regional trade priorities. It details a multi-criteria methodology considering land tenure status, corridor connectivity, sectoral potential, SME aggregation opportunities, and environmental suitability.
