At the “Activity Options for Action Plans on Cross-Cutting Issues of Specific Stockholm Convention Articles” webinar (24 February 2026), Mihaela Claudia Paun of UNEP presented on strengthening chemicals and waste management through sectoral approaches, highlighting interlinkages between Stockholm Convention National Implementation Plans (NIPs), the Global Framework on Chemicals (GFC), and related multilateral environmental agreements. 

The webinar, organized by Green Growth Knowledge Partnership (GGKP) as part of the GEF-funded and UNEP-led Global NIP Update Project (GEF ID 10785), emphasized how NIPs provide a strategic platform to align legal frameworks, inventories, monitoring, alternatives assessment, and stakeholder engagement with the GFC’s objectives and targets.
