This pre-assessment report, prepared by the Global Green Growth Institute (GGGI) in partnership with TradeMark Africa, presents a foundational analysis to identify suitable industrial park sites in Uganda for greening and developing into export-oriented economic zones. The project aims to enhance the competitiveness and climate resilience of Uganda's trade and export value chains in alignment with national development goals.
Through a rigorous methodological approach, the report evaluates potential sites against environmental, social, and economic criteria, ultimately shortlisting the Lugazi and Tororo Industrial Parks as the most promising locations for subsequent master planning and investment. This initiative represents a strategic step towards achieving Uganda's aspiration for sustainable economic transformation as outlined in its Vision 2040 and National Development Plans.
