Highlights from the Training of Trainers on the Climate–Sanitation Nexus in Africa

From June 23 to 27, 2025, a weeklong capacity-building workshop was held as part of the project “Promoting Citywide Inclusive Sanitation through Climate Resilience and Green Growth in West Africa,” funded by the Gates Foundation.

Participants came from ten African countries: Burkina Faso, Cameroon, Côte d’Ivoire, Ethiopia, Ghana, Kenya, Malawi, Senegal, Uganda, and Zambia.

The training combined theoretical knowledge with practical skills, strengthening participants’ understanding of the vital link between climate and sanitation.

Hear insights from representatives of Côte d’Ivoire, AFWASA, GGGI, and a participant reflecting on the learning experience.
