As we celebrate the anniversary of Stockholm +50, we must ask ourselves a long-overdue question: How can we make “sustainable development” a reality, rather than mere rhetoric? We need to get serious about economic reform, and renew the social contract to spur the transformation of economies and societies to address inequalities, and halt climate change and environmental destruction.
