Event date 20 Oct 2023

In this session Basel Convention regional centres will present best practices and lessons learned in the collection of e-waste in countries of different regions. The presentations will introduce findings and tools developed in the context of PACE II pilot projects implemented in Indonesia, Trinidad and Tobago and in the European region. This year’s theme is “You can recycle anything with a plug, battery or cable!” highlighting the issue of invisible e-waste - the electronic items that often go unrecognized and are not properly recycled within the appropriate waste stream. The International E-waste Day is a yearly awareness raising celebration initiated by the WEEE Forum and its members and takes place every year on 14th of October. It aims to highlight the growing issue of electronic waste and promote responsible e-waste management. The Partnership for Action on Challenges relating to E-waste (PACE II) participates in the celebrations with its members together with the WEEE Forum.
