On 16 August 2024 (13:00-14:05 CEST), the Green Growth Knowledge Partnership (GGKP) hosted the third online workshop, “Outreach and Engagement with Major Stakeholder Groups for Developing National Implementation Plans," for Albania, Algeria, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Burundi, Cameroon, Cote d’Ivoire, Gambia, Guinea, Malawi, Montenegro, North Macedonia, Senegal, Togo, Tunisia, Zambia, Zimbabwe, Pretoria, and Czech Republic. The session focused on the importance of stakeholder engagement in developing and updating National Implementation Plans (NIPs) under the Stockholm Convention. Key topics included strategies for raising public awareness, maintaining regular communication with key stakeholders, and the challenges of securing resources for effective implementation. Participants discussed the use of stakeholder maps, the role of different sectors in data collection, and the need for tailored approaches to engagement at different stages of the NIP process.
