Developed jointly by the Global Green Growth Institute (GGGI) and UPM Umwelt-Projekt-Management GmbH, this Training of Trainers (ToT) program aims to enhance understanding of climate-resilient opportunities in the sanitation sector and promote citywide inclusive sanitation (CWIS) principles in Africa. The training underscores the relevance and urgency of integrating climate action into sanitation planning and implementation.
Module 4 - Introduction of carbon credit projects and carbon market, and eligibility of a sanitation project for the carbon market (Part A)

It explains key methodologies, such as AMS III.H and ACM0014, relevant to sanitation projects, and highlights critical steps for assessing eligibility, including feasibility studies, risk analysis, and stakeholder engagement. Participants learn how to evaluate whether a sanitation project can generate carbon credits and contribute to climate mitigation while supporting sustainable development goals.
