Water Supply for Rural Communities

Many rural communities in Nigeria are faced with the problem of lack of potable
water, long distances and queues at water sources and lack of piped water system. The
main purpose of this work is to design a water supply scheme for obukpa community while taking into account the future changes in water demand. The aim is to design a water supply scheme for Obukpa community.
This work involves identifying the possible water sources, determining the water
demand in Obukpa community, assessing the physical and chemical parameters,
designing the water supply components i.e pipe network, transmission and
distribution system, sizing the storage reservoir and estimating the project costs.
